However, it emphasizes more to public speaking. Not exactly the book you are looking for engaging people in social situation, sales, company's meeting, etc. Mainly because the writer is a famous public speaker. He then shares excellent and concrete advice all throughout the 12 chapters, giving clear examples and strategies to help the common man improve in the art of presenting. There are repeating thoughts throughout the chapters but I understand that it was done on purpose because each chapter is self-contained.

One doesn't need to read the entire book as Tracy has sectioned the chapters to address whatever area you need help with completely. I love the fact that Tracy's book alludes to The Art of War. If you've read Sun Tzu 's masterpiece, then you would see traces of it in Tracy's writing. I also love the fact that Tracy structures his writing the way he gives his speeches.
Wonderful formatting, you know what to expect and can follow his points easily. I highly recommend this book to would-be speakers or to people who are either venturing into public speaking, training or marketing. A very good book, but rather short - which gives you the impression that something is missing. Other than that, it is excellent. Not just a book about "speak with confidence," but a down-to-earth self-help book on speaking and presentations in general. It includes tips on how much to eat or not eat before giving a presentation. Also a lot of advice on how to set up a room for a presentation and do's and don'ts concerning the set-up staff at hotels and other public meeting facilities.

I was already Familiar with a lot of the material he speaks about but yet it was a great blessing to hear again oratory points and it gave me new ideas to prepare myself through reading Shakespeare and going to plays.
